SOME BOOKS ON MEMORY IMPROVING

There are a lot of books about this subject, but, of course, not every one is worth reading. I think the 5 following titles are among the best ones:

* How to Develop a Super Power Memory , by Harry Lorayne.
* Your Memory : How It Works and How to Improve It , by Kenneth Higbee.
* Harvard Medical School Guide to Achieving Optimal Memory, by Nelson & Gilbert.
* Carved in Sand: When Attention Fails and Memory Fades in Midlife, by Cathryn J Ramin.
* Use Your Perfect Memory: Dramatic New Techniques for Improving Your Memory, by Tony Buzan.

So, read them, practise and enjoy.

7 Seven tips for students to success

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the Litemind site you can see many intersting tips. Now they are open to "lists". Here's mine:

7 tips for students to success.

1.- OPEN YOUR BOOKS.- Some students consider that by buying or getting their textbooks it is enough to pass the corresponding examinations. No, it's necessary to open them too, read them, and -believe me- study on them as in the old days.

2.- BESIDES PICTURES, BOOKS HAVE LETTERS.- Note that letters form words; words usually compound a sentence that says something. Yes, yes, I know that it is difficcult to go any further than "push", "pull" "game over" and so on, but make an effort, please.

3.- GO TO CLASSES.- Contrary to the general youth opinion, a High School is not a lot of playground with some classrooms but a lot of classrooms with some playground.

4.- LISTEN TO THE TEACHER.- The teacher is the person in the classroom in charge of transmitting knowledge, not a goalkeeper for chalk, paper planes or ballpens. If you can hear him/her above the general uproar, perhaps you discover that he/she is explaining an interesting point.

5.- WORKBOOKS HELP TO LEARN.- Although workbooks do not have screen or buttons, they contribute to fix your learning. (By the way, workbooks are not made to look at them but to use them with pens, markers, pencils, etc., so don't forget your pen at home).

6.- USE YOUR MEMORY.- Your mind memory, I mean, not your pen-flash memory. If you do it you will be amazed to see that apart singers and footballers' names there is still room in your mind for the lessons of your curricula.

7.- VISIT THE PUBLIC LIBRARY.- Go there and you can see how many people read books, normal people, you know; even people without spectacles or arthritis.

WHY THIS BLOG

Traditionally has been said that the powers of soul are memory, understanding, and will. Times change, and today we prefer to use "mind" instead of "soul". (Note that the word psychology originally refers to soul).

So, to improve our self, we dispose of those three tools or powers. Precise memory, deep understanding and strong willpower will conduct men and women to obtain the best of life they consider. Be a singer, a student, a doctor, a mechanic, a businessperson, a teacher or a housewife, all of us need to make the best use we can of these powers.

The purpose of this blog is to share tips, directions, tricks, instructions, etc. in order to get better understanding, memory and will.

That's it.
